Performance evaluation of zirconium silicate composite for removal of cadmium and zinc ions

چکیده
The purification of wastewater is preferred using the adsorption by column due to process’s high efficiency. Column investigations are performed remove hazardous pollutants and demonstrate efficiency in treatment process. Cadmium zinc exist radioactive industrial wastes. Therefore, this work interested cadmium removal from utilising a fixed-bed column. Zirconia–silicate composite (ZrO2–SiO2) was synthesised sol–gel technique analyzed for purpose. influence some parameters as bed depth (2.0, 3.0 5.0 cm), flow rate (2.0 mL/min) initial ions concentrations (50–200 mg/L) investigated. performance computed be 80.3 79.3% Zn2 + Cd2+, respectively, at optimum conditions (3.0 cm depth, 2.0 mL/min 100 mg/L concentration).
